Director, Mark Engsberg

Mark Engsberg, Library Director

Mark Engsberg is the Library Director and Assistant Professor of Law at the MacMillan Law Library.

Before coming to Emory Law, Mark Engsberg worked at the Lillian Goldman Law Library at Yale Law School for eight years, where he served as a reference librarian, as the international and foreign Law reference librarian and as head of reference. Professor Engsberg is active in professional legal and law librarianship organizations. Since 2005, he has served as editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Legal Information, published by the International Association of Law Libraries.

Engsberg received his Master of Science in Library and Information Science degree, as well as a master's degree and a doctorate in English literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a JD from Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Ore., and a bachelor's degree from Drury University in Springfield, Mo.

Iris Garcia, Associate Law Librarian for Collection Services

Iris Garcia is the Associate Law Librarian for Collection Services at the MacMillan Law Library. Prior to joining Emory, Iris was the Acquisitions & Electronic Resources Librarian at UCLA School of Law. She was also the Technical Services Librarian at St. Thomas University Law Library. Iris is an active member of national library organizations.

Iris holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University.

Assistant Law Librarian for Special Collections, Vanessa King

Vanessa King, Assistant Law Librarian for Special Collections

Vanessa King has been with the MacMillan Law Library since 2004 and is currently the Assistant Law Librarian for Special Collections. In this role, she manages the law library’s archives program and rare book collections. Prior to her current appointment, Vanessa was the Assistant Law Librarian for Reference, Faculty Services and Archives. 

King holds a J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, a Master of Library Science from Clark Atlanta University, a master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Tulsa and a bachelor’s degree from Colorado College.

Assistant Law Librarian for Cataloging and Metadata, Jason LeMay

Jason LeMay, Assistant Law Librarian for Cataloging and Metadata

After 12 years working as an IT Support Tech/PC Computer Programmer for a library system in Florida, Jason LeMay moved to Georgia and spent the next 3.5 years as a Cataloging Librarian in Gwinnett County. Now the Assistant Law Librarian for Cataloging and Metadata, Jason coordinates cataloging activities at the Law Library, performs system and database maintenance, and works with the larger Emory University library community to help ensure materials are accurately recorded for easy location and retrieval.

LeMay holds a J.M. from Emory University School of Law. He received his Master of Library and Information Science, as well as a bachelor’s degree, from the University of South Florida.

Associate Law Librarian for Research Services, Christina Glon

Christina Glon, Associate Law Librarian for Research Services

Christina Glon is the Associate Law Librarian for Research Services at the MacMillan Law Library. Prior to librarianship, Christina practiced transactional law in southwest Michigan specializing in Electronic Discovery and Litigation Support, Estate Planning and Probate Administration, Business and Tax law, and Real Estate transactions. Christina is active in local, regional, national, and international library organizations. She currently serves on the Editorial Board of Perspectives: Teaching Legal Research and Writing and recently served as the Chair of the Local Planning Committee for the International Association of Law Libraries’ 36th Annual Course on International Law and Legal Information held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA (October 2017), and President of the Atlanta Law Libraries Association (2016-2017), a chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries. Christina often writes and presents on creating and teaching specialized advanced legal research courses and Technology in Legal Practice.

Christina holds a JD from the University of Illinois College of Law, a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois School of Information Science, and a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.

Elizabeth Christian, Law Librarian for Research Services

Elizabeth Christian is a Law Librarian for Research Services at MacMillan Law Library. Prior to becoming a law librarian, Elizabeth practiced intellectual property law at a large firm in South Carolina. She is also the former Director of the IP Law Clinic at Franklin Pierce Law Center and the former Director of the NH Inventors Assistance Program.

Elizabeth holds a JD from the University of Georgia College of Law, a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia (Phi Beta Kappa).

Abby Deese, Law Librarian for Research Services

Abby Deese is a Law Librarian for Research Services at the MacMillan Law Library. Prior to joining Emory, Abby was a reference librarian, government documents coordinator, and legal research instructor at Elon University School of Law. During her time at Elon, Abby worked with colleagues to develop experiential instruction techniques and innovative online research courses. Since joining the Emory team, she has relaunched our Business & Tax Law Research course and developed the ALR – Mastery of Regulatory Research course. Abby is an alumna of the Law Library Fellowship at the Cracchiolo Law Library, University of Arizona Rogers College of Law. In addition to teaching legal research and providing research expertise to Emory faculty and students, Abby serves as an active member of local, regional, and national law library associations.

Abby holds a JD from Charleston School of Law, a Master of Library and Information Science from University of Arizona, and a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston.

Foreign and International Law Librarian, Amy Flick

Amy Flick, Foreign and International Law Librarian

Amy Flick has been with the MacMillan Law Library since 1994 and is currently the Foreign and International Law Librarian. Prior to her current appointment, Amy was the Law Librarian for Research Services and Bibliographic Instruction. Before becoming a law librarian, Amy clerked for the Honorable Duross Fitzpatrick (U.S. District Court, Middle District of Georgia) and for the Honorable John T. Laney, III (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Georgia), as well as practicing law in Atlanta. Amy frequently blogs about international legal research issues and is an active member in local, regional, national and international library associations. She currently manages the International Association of Law Librarians’ International Calendar and previously served on the Local Planning Committee for the International Association of Law Libraries’ 36th Annual Course on International Law and Legal Information held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA (October 2017).

Richelle Reid, Law Librarian for Research Services

Richelle Reid is a Law Librarian for Research Services at the MacMillan Law Library, having previously served as the Assistant Law Librarian for Student Services and User Experience. Prior to becoming a law librarian, Richelle worked in children’s advocacy for Fulton County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and other non-profit organizations in Atlanta. Richelle is an active member of local, regional and national library associations, and previously served as President of the Atlanta Law Libraries Association (2015-2016), and as chair of the Black Caucus of the American Association of Law Libraries (2015-2016).

Richelle holds a JD from Georgia State University College of Law, a Master of Library and Information Science from Valdosta State University, and bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
